Robert joined the LRP Youth Workshop in 1994 and went on to perform in
the chorus as a mouse in Cinderella and lighting for Murder at Mystery
Manor. He has continued to be involved in performances in every
possible role; from actor to lighting technician, to youth theatre
leader and committee member at the Broadbent Theatre. Robert has even
found himself singing on stage in many of the songs shows, being
commended for his voice, much to his amazement. But he confesses he
feels safer acting on stage than singing. His favourite role that he
has played was Colin in Mother Goose in which he showed his true
colours and performed three shows after being in a car crash an hour
before they started. True dedication.
In 2002 Robert started training in performance and creative art, and then did a year of technical theatre training involving himself in numerous productions in Wales, Hull and Essex. During this period he also stared in a radio station slot, as a presenter and technician, called Bobby D's Biscuit Break. In July 2006 Robert returned to take up the reins as Mr Lights and Sound in the autumn productions and was lucky enough to land the leading role in the panto, Aladdin. Now he is back there may be no stopping him... |
