Beverley Anthony |
| Beverley was a founder member and
treasurer of the Scothern Players and has appeared in most of their
productions. Also over the last few years, she has appeared in
concerts and shows as a member of the Gainsborough Amateur Operatic
Society. Beverley is a member of the Singabout Choir and
performs at weddings and concerts. As if all this weren't
enough, Beverley is involved with charity work with the Hayton Players
who raise money for their church and has produced a concert
"From Music Hall to Millennium" for the entertainment of
residents in a number of old peoples homes.
Beverley blames Sinbad director, Tim Raynes for conning her into "helping out" with her first LRP show. On her first visit to the Broadbent, four weeks before the production, she was handed the script and told she would be playing one of the lead parts as somebody had been forced to drop out. Not only this, Beverley had to come to terms with the realisation that she would be playing a man! In a relatively short time Beverley has already made a big impact since starring in Sinbad. She joined the committee and led the way in the revival of the Broadbent Youth Workshops with whom she produced The Wizard of Oz. Beverley says her favourite play is Daisy Pulls it Off and having seen it dozens of times she has recently had the opportunity to play a schoolgirl in the Phoenix Players production at the Theatre Royal. |
