John Anthony

Theatre is John's therapy from his work as a practicing Chartered Accountant. 

A regular member of the LRP Party to the Edinburgh Festival each year, his taste ranges from Stand Up to Shakespeare. John's particular love is language and his favourite playwrights include Noel Coward, Willy Russell and Tom Stoppard.

John is a founder member of his village group, Scothern Players, and for the last four productions (Rough Crossing by Tom Stoppard, Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward, Nobody's Perfect by Simon  Williams and Don't Dress for Dinner by Marc Canoletti) he has been Chairman.  His major roles include Charles in Blithe Spirit and Dvornichek in Rough Crossing.

John has had several years with both Gainsborough Amateur Operatic Society for whom he played Bill Sykes in Oliver! at the Trinity Centre Gainsborough and the County Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society when he took the part of Mordcha in Fiddler on the Roof at the Theatre Royal Lincoln.

John's wife, Beverley and daughter, Caroline are also LRP members.
