Deckchairs Four Plays by Jean
McConnell |
Director's
Programme Note: "Deckchairs" is a series of scenes
observing life and is full of colourful characters whom we can recognise
in ourselves if not in others. Some scenes are humourous and some
touching but all are with a twist-in-the-tail. The action takes
place on a seafront on a warm sunny day in summer. This is the third time that I have directed scenes from this set of plays and each time has been a different experience as actors have brought their own experiences of life to the characters. This time I have been very fortunate and have been able to act in one scene with the help of Charlotte as director. This is my first direction for Lindsey Rural Players after moving recently to the area and I would like to thank the committee and members for the warm welcome I have been given. I hope that you, the audience, gain as much pleasure from this evening's entertainment as I have done working with such a talented and hard working group of actors.
