Panto 2014 at the Broadbent – Get involved!

It is, believe it or not, the time of year when we must start thinking about panto 2014.  We’re inviting you to help us make it happen!

We have a script for Aladdin.  Weather it happens or not depends on who’s up for it.  We need a cast, a crew and a production team.  We would like to meet anyone who is interested in getting invoved in any way.  We need actors, carpenters, a prop master, scenic painters, stage crew, costume helpers, a choreographer, singers, a publicity team, set dressers, make-up artists, a stage manager, a photographer, lighting and sound technicians, pupeteers, dressers, prop makers, musicians, magicians, dancers, designers – in fact people to help with every aspect of producing a large show.  Even if you are a script writer or director, we’d be interested in meeting you.

We will meet at the Broadbent Theatre on Sunday 30th June at 3pm.  We can spend some time reading a little of the proposed script.  We can also eat cake and talk about your interest and involvement.

Everyone is welcome so whether you are new to theatre or an old hand at the Broadbent or whether you are usually part of another theatre group – we’d love to hear from you.

The Broaadbent panto takes place at the end of January and beginning of February 2014.

Please contact me if you are interested in getting involved in *any* capacity.  The time is now – we need to start planning and get organised!

Come and make the magic happen.

    Hi Patrick.

I would like to be involved in the next panto. I’m quite useful in set building and such – I’ve just created a rather fine set for “Cards on the table” for Phoenix. I also have some skills in lighting, having lit and operated the same Phoenix show. Not bad at theatrical photography too. Main difficulty is working silly shifts, but I would love to be involved in some capacity. I will join you on June 30th if I’m not at work…

That’s excellent news Bill. We are desperate for set builders.
