Ian McKeand

Lincoln-based
professional theatre director Ian McKeand, trained as an actor at the
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before becoming a freelance
director and teacher of acting. He was Artistic Director of The Byre Theatre in St. Andrews for two years and after his spell as Drama Director in Residence in Lincolnshire and Humberside, working with amateur companies, he spent a year running Pocket Theatre in Cumbria before returning to Lincolnshire to run Great Eastern Stage where he served as Artistic Director for 7 years. He then taught in major London Drama Schools where he was course tutor at Webber Douglas Academy and finally Director of First-Year and Post-Graduate studies at East 15 Acting School. He was also an Associate Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He now teaches musical theatre at the Leicester College of Performing Arts.
