When Benjamin Lecrosse, the matinee idol of the 1960’s, secures himself the title role in a production of “Hamlet”, he is overjoyed at the possibility of achieving his lifelong dream. The theatre financiers, however, are not so sure and the recently graduated would-be actor Paul Upshott (playing Peasant Eight) is to be Lecrosse’s understudy. This witty comedy of one-up-man-ship and saving face is a riot of comic timing, characterisation and morality. |

Lindsey Rural Players present Their Annual Pantomime “Mother
Goose” A new slant on an old story when Mother Goose is given the Hollywood and MGM treatment. The style might have changed, but the story stays the same... the tale of the goose that laid the golden egg. Incorporate a wicked Baron, a Dozy Duo, an American Private Eye and portraits that come to life and haunt the corridors of Holdfast Hall; add a cracking pair of legs, a pretty girl, an outrageous Dame and another dreadful audience participation song and what have you got? No prizes for guessing... it's a pantomime for the whole family! Not to be missed. Book early. |
